Bo-Kaap (also known as Schotsche Kloof or the ‘Malay Quarter') can be literally translated as ‘Above Cape Town', due to its' position directly above the city centre. It is the most vibrant and colourful suburb in Cape Town's City Bowl. Bo-Kaap is situated right next door to the CBD above Buitengracht Street. It lies between Strand Street to its' North and Military Road to its' South.
