Cape Town City Centre
The CBD (Central Business District) in Cape Town is located in the city centre and spans from the top ends of Long Street and Loop Street to the Foreshore and the Canal Quays. Traditionally an area exclusive to Cape Town business, the city centre is now home to numerous modern residential apartment blocks, such as Mandela Rhodes Place, Cartwright's Corner, The Adderley, The Piazza on Church and The Decks. The residential apartment boom in the CBD has been flourishing since 2003 when developers began to convert commercial-only blocks into mixed-use and residential blocks.
Major attractions in the city centre include the V&A Waterfront, together with Robben Island (entrance in Buitengracht Street), the Cape of Good Hope Castle (Castle Street), the Grand Parade and City Hall (Darling Street), Greenmarket Square (between Shortmarket Street & Longmarket Street), the Cape Town International Convention Centre or CTICC (Lower Long Street) and the Company Gardens (top of Adderley Street).
