Harfield Village
Harfield Village, Claremont represents the area between the Southern Suburbs railway line and Rosemead Avenue, and from Landsdowne Road to Bell Road. Initial settlement in this area of Claremont sprung up during the early to mid 1800's within the larger area that was coming to be known as Lower Claremont. The earliest residents were mostly settlers from Britain who following the takeover from the Dutch Colony in 1814 saw "a place in the country" as a sign of success. In 2002 the special heritage value of Harfield Village was recognized by the City of Cape Town, that designated it as a special area. Harfield Village today is an area where residents from different racial, social and religious backgrounds live and work together.
People love Harfield Village because of the lifestyle it offers. The position close to Main road, the M5/ M3 highways, Kenilworth / Harfield railway stations make travel to work and schools very convenient. The Claremont Central Business District, Cavendish Shopping centre, Newlands rugby and cricket Stadiums are all within short distance of Harfield.
