Looking For a Career in Real Estate?
Individuals looking for a career in real estate must, by law, complete the Full Qualification FETC: Real Estate NQF 4. The learner can only register for this qualification if they are employed by a real estate agency as an intern estate agent on a 12 month internship contract. The standards that make up this qualification will add value to the learners understanding of the real estate sector.
How to Get Started
Step One: Employment at a Registered Agency
You will first need to find employment with a real estate agency as prescribed by the Government in terms of the mandatory training requirement. It is important to ensure that the estate agency and principal agent that you will be working for holds a valid FFC (Fidelity Fund Certificate).
Step Two: Register With EAAB
You will then need to register with the EAAB for an intern Fidelity Fund Certificate (FFC). Download and complete an application form from their website. Hand this in at their offices in Johannesburg or post registered mail, with a copy of your identity document and letter of employment from the agency confirming employment (signed by the principal); as well as proof of payment.
Step Three: Register with The Learning Institute
You will now need to register with an accredited training provider to attain the FETC Real Estate NQF level 4. As an accredited training provider, The Learning Institute will assist you with a pre-screening interview with the aim to design your individual training program. Part of this process involves qualifying you for exemptions on certificates, diplomas and qualifications that you already been acquired.
Step Four: Complete 12 Month Internship
The FETC: Real Estate NQF 4 curriculum will add value to your understanding and functioning within the real estate sector on both a theoretical and practical (workplace) level. The mandatory training requirements specify that the learner must complete at least 150 credits (1,500 notional hours of training).
