Quigney
East London is one of the first recorded settlements in the Eastern Cape. This settlement, which originally housed settlers as well as shipping and traders, commenced on the West Bank of the Buffalo River. East London was considered a very advantageous port or settlement in which to live. The wool trade in South Africa centred around this historical city.
