People and Cultures
South Africa is known as the Rainbow Nation with its many African, European and Asian cultures. It is truly a world in one land. The Traditional Africans make up a majority of the people in our land - consisting of 10 recognised tribal groups.
This offers endless diversity in African culture, which when coupled with incredible unspoiled landscapes, offer visitors unparalelled oportunities.
Economy
The South African economy is the strongest economy in the emerging market. The currency is the South African Rand, which at the time of press was trading at around R 7.00 to 1 US $.
The South African Rand does come under pressure due to its tradability and its association with other emerging markets, however this tends to increase the buying power of stronger foreign currencies adding to the viability of purchasing products and services from South Africa.
Inflation is stable and we experience strong consisten economic growth.
Climate
South Africa boasts great climatic diversity. We have a Mediterranean climate in the South West coastline and a humid subtropical climate on the South East coast.
In the northeastern highveld we have a savanna climate and to the far northwest we have semi desert and desert climates.
Beautiful beach cities and resorts, which have year round sun and impressive thunderstorm inland. We even have snow capped peaks in and around Lesotho.
