Activities: Walking and hiking trails, horse-riding and bass fishing nearby. Places to visit include numerous waterfalls, Eco-shrine, Labyrinth. Spring and Autumn garden visits, the Aboretum, Mirrors Photographic Gallery, Little Studio Arts and Crafts, Candle Factory and St Patricks On The Hill Chapel. Numerous restaurants are within walking distance of the guest lodge.

The Jewel of Hogsback offers tranquil surroundings for people who wish to be far from the madding crowds. The gardens are extensive and magnificent right throughout the seasons. There are six self-catering dwellings that offer comfort, privacy and intimacy and are equally beautiful in the heart of summer and in the dead of winter.

The Guest Lodge is situated in the heart of the village within walking distance of a number of restaurants, pubs and hikes. Within Hogsback there are several activities one can pursue, Hogsback offers hiking, cycling, birding, restaurants, friendly and intimate pubs and several other activities. In addition, there are several galleries offering a range of items from photographs to pottery and paintings.

Hogsback, itself, is situated in the Amathole Mountains. Hogsback is 150km from East London and situated very close to the town of Alice (34 km away) where one finds the University of Fort Hare.
