Century City's history: uncover the backstory

Once a 250-hectare empty space along Cape Town's N1 highway, Century City got a makeover as it was rezoned from residential to mixed-use development. Its initial projects included Ratanga Junction theme park and Canal Walk shopping complex.

However, after facing financial challenges, Ratanga Junction theme park shut down in May 2018. The area will soon transform into a residential neighbourhood.

Century City's weather: discover the patterns

Century City experiences a Mediterranean-influenced climate characterised by warm, dry summers and mild winters. During the summer months of November to March, temperatures range from 20°C to 30°C, with ample sunshine. However, the famous South-Easter winds, known as the "Cape Doctor", can occasionally bring cooler air and gusty conditions.

Winters, from June to August, see mild temperatures of 8°C to 18°C with sporadic showers that help maintain the city's lush greenery. Spring and autumn serve as transitional periods with comfortable weather.

Century City's schools: set your child up for success

Century City offers a diverse array of schools that cater to a range of age groups and educational requirements. For the youngest learners, Little Palace Nursery School provides exceptional early childhood education, while Curro Century City extends across all age levels.

Additionally, in close proximity to Century City lies Milnerton, home to esteemed educational institutions like Milnerton Primary School and Milnerton High School.

Century City's healthcare: get treated by the best

Century City residents are fortunate to have a comprehensive array of medical facilities at their disposal. Among the notable options are Mediclinic Milnerton and Intercare Day Hospital, all conveniently located within the vicinity to cater to their healthcare needs.

Century City comes alive with shopping and exhilaration, thanks to the renowned Canal Walk Shopping Centre. Moreover, you have the chance to discover more shopping experiences in the vicinity, including Market Lane, Sable Square, Century City Natural Goods Market, and Century Village.
