Gordon Bay’s Property Demand Spikes

Category Property News

It is common knowledge that the Western Cape property market is booming and has consistently outperformed other provinces in the country. Between 2015 and 2016 the average property selling price in the Cape soared, reflecting a real estate growth of 12.6%.

While the Cape Town property market sees increasing demand – partly due to the influx of in-landers migrating from other parts of South Africa and typography limits the expansion of the city – areas outside of Cape Town, particularly along the coast, are rapidly snowballing in value.  The Western Cape also has the smallest number of buyers leaving the province due to the quality of life and sound economic advancement.

The growth statistics show a very positive outlook for Western Cape real estate, which provide investors with the peace of mind and the certainty that their asset will grow in worth.
Properties in the False Bay area have seen very optimistic growth, with average selling prices in this region increasing nearly at the provincial rate at 12%. There has been substantial interest in this area, with False Bay becoming a property hotspot, especially amongst upcountry investors.

With properties becoming increasingly scarce, the ascending demand is driving up prices in False Bay towns including; Gordons Bay, Kalk Bay, Simon’s Town and Muizenberg.

Being the smallest of the three towns in the picturesque Helderberg region, Gordon’s Bay is an idyllic seaside haven complemented by warm waters, white sandy beaches and a quaint harbour all just 30km from Cape Town. Located in the Helderberg region, the small coastal town of Gordon’s Bay has seen a healthy rise in property values in recent years, due to ongoing enquiries by buyers and a decrease in supply.
