Cape Town International Airport. Cape Town International Airport is located approximately 22 kilometres from Sea Point and offers both domestic and international flights.

To get to Sea Point from the airport, visitors can take a taxi or shuttle service, or hire a car. There are also several public transport options available, including the MyCiTi bus service and the Metrorail train service.

Sea Point flourished as a chic coastal resort during the 19th and early 20th centuries, luring affluent travellers from different corners of the globe. The suburb boasted a number of luxurious private homes and grand hotels.

Sea Point experienced a significant urbanisation during the mid-20th century and became a favoured residential area for middle-class families. This transformation involved converting many of the old grand hotels and residences into townhouses and apartments and constructing new developments to cater to the expanding population.

Sea Point has a Mediterranean climate with warm summers (December to February) and mild, wet winters (June to August). Summer temperatures range from 18°C to 26°C while winter temperatures range from 8°C to 18°C with occasional storms and rainfall.

Sea Point has a number of primary and secondary schools, both public and private. Some of the primary schools in Sea Point include Sea Point Primary School, Ellerton Primary School, and Herzlia Weizmann Primary School. 

For secondary education, there is Sea Point High School, as well as several private schools such as Herzlia High School and Reddam House Atlantic Seaboard. 

Sea Point's healthcare: get treated by the best

Sea Point has several private medical facilities, such as Netcare Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital and Mediclinic Cape Town. The closest public hospital, Victoria Hospital, is situated in nearby Wynberg.

These hospitals offer a range of services, including emergency care, surgery, and specialised treatments.

Sea Point's shopping scene: enjoy some retail therapy

The main shopping area in Sea Point is located along Main Road, which runs through the suburb. Here, visitors will find a variety of shops selling clothing, jewellery, cosmetics, and homeware, as well as supermarkets such as Checkers and Woolworths.

The Mojo Market is a popular indoor market that features over 80 food and retail stalls, selling everything from fresh produce and artisanal foods to clothing and accessories. Sea Point also has several malls within easy reach, including the V&A Waterfront.
