Parkview Junior School was started in 1917 with only 19 pupils. Three years later, the number leapt to 100.  Another school, Laerskool Jan Celliers would become the first private Afrikaans primary school in the country. Your children’s education need not be a concern, as there are five excellent local schools: Parkview Pre-primary, Parkview Junior, Parkview Senior, Parktown Girls High and Japari as well as a few good nursery schools. Residents can also enjoy easy access to St Johns, St Catherine's, Auckland Park Prep and Kingsmead College as well as WITS  and UJ.

Parkview residents are also proud to have a very active Residents Association who run the ‘Safe Parkview Proactive Security initiative 24/7' which offers 24 hour security for the suburb.
